Telephone Trial

Bowling Hall Medical Practice is always looking at new ways to improve our service. We have been running a trial of a new telephone waiting system so that patients ringing through to the practice at busy times do not get an engaged tone, but rather are put in a queue.

Recently, we have been asking you for your feedback on this system, and we are happy to announce that the feedback has been generally positive.

Of those patients who have experienced waiting in a queue, 73% said that they preferred it to hearing an engaged tone, and of those who have not yet used this system, 75% said that, in future, they would prefer to wait in a queue than hear an engaged tone.

We are continually looking for new ways to make our service more efficient and less time consuming for our patients. On top of installing more telephone lines and having more staff operating them, we are currently looking into a way for patients to book appointments online from our Practice web-page. This would allow booking 24 hours a day from the comfort of your own home, without the need for telephoning the practice.
