Test Results
It can sometimes take several weeks for test results to come back to the practice. Please telephone after 10:30am for test results. To protect patient confidentiality, we can only give test results to patients themselves or to their legal guardians if they are under 16 years old.
For X-ray and Ultrasound results, or if you have had several different blood tests, you may be asked to make an appointment to discuss the results with the GP or nurse practitioner, but please ring after 10:30am to find out if this is needed.
Please note that the reception staff are not trained to analyse test results, and can only pass on the comments that the doctor has made. If you would like to discuss test results further please arrange a telephone consultation with a doctor.
Laboratory Specimens and Samples
Any specimens or samples should be brought in to reception before 3.30pm, so that they can be ready for delivery before 4pm. In the interests of health and safety, specimens will only be accepted in a labelled bottle or in a labelled specimen bag. Please note that we do not send specimins to be tested unless it has been requested by a clinician either in practice or externally.
