Cancellations
Please try to keep your appointment and arrive at the surgery in good time. If you are unable to make your appointment, please tell us as soon as possible, so we can offer your appointment to another patient. 

Out of Hours
If you need to see a doctor outside normal surgery hours, please telephone the normal practice number – 01274 224 888 – and you will be directed to our emergency on-call doctor service.

Dr Helen Dewhirst (f)MB ChB (Liverpool 1988) MRCGP, DGM, DCH

I graduated from Liverpool Medical School in 1988 and after spending time with a Practice in Derbyshire moved to Bradford, joining Bowling Hall Medical Practice in 1997. I have special interest in Older People and Women’s Health and working with the other GPs in the practice assisted in the development of the medical student teaching and the Foundation Year 2 doctor support within the practice.

I am a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and a GP trainer for the GP registrars within the practice. I am recognised by the PCT as the clinical lead for the Practice.
  
Dr Amanda Nix (f)MB ChB (Leeds 1993) MRCGP, DFFP

I graduated from Leeds Medical School in 1993 and before joining Bowling Hall Medical Practice in 2001 spent 2 years as a VSO in Mongolia as GP Lecturer at the Medical University of Mongolia. During my time in Mongolia I helped set up a non governmental organisation with a Mongolian GP to develop primary health care.

I am a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and have special interest in Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Family Planning and Paediatrics. Working with other practice staff and local teenagers I helped develop our drop-in service ‘Teentalk’ to support our teenage population. I am the clinical lead for medical student teaching
  
Dr Daniel Caris (m)MB ChB (Leicester 1999) MRCS, DRCOG, DFFP, MRCGP

Originally from Northumberland, I graduated from Leicester University in 1999 before moving to Yorkshire to train as a surgeon. After 5 years working in various surgical roles, I completed my GP training in August 2006 and subsequently joined Bowling Hall Medical Practice in September 2006.

I am currently interested in training tomorrows doctors and am the medical student lead at the practice. I also perform minor surgey at the practice. I also perform vasectomies and have a clinical interest in dermatology.
  
Dr Estelle McFadden (f)MB ChB (Dundee 1996) MRCP, MRCGP

After graduating in Dundee in 1996, I moved to Leeds to take up a position at Leeds General Infirmary. I gained experience in Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine in Yorkshire and also undertook a period of research at the University of Leeds before deciding on a career in General Practice.

I joined Bowling Hall Medical Practice in September 2007 and being a member of the Royal College of Physicians and a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners I have combined these skills to become a GPwSI (GP with Special Interest) in Neurology for Bradford & Airedale Primary Care Trust.
